This past weekend was my favorite 5k race, the Dick Lugar Run. I always have a good race and I love the course. I didn't PR (I was close), but I had a great pace and it did wonders for the self esteem. I am in a happy place right now with training. Everything is "for fun" and very enjoyable. I need to not worry about keeping up with the group or being in the "slow" lane. I need to just enjoy myself. I NEED TO RIDE MY FREAK'N MOUNTAIN BIKE!
We have our adventure racing national championships coming up and I know the mountain biking is going to be brutal. The goal is to get out to the trail a couple times a week this fall so that I am not white knuckled and scared come the Novembers race. I have a few mountain biking trips planned, so hopefully I'll get some mountain bike specific fitness in before the big race! Hopefully I won't have any ER visits. I am sure those trips will provide some interesting blog posts!
