Dino 15k Trail Run-- good for the soul

I woke up on Saturday morning (sleep deprived) only to find it pouring down rain. The final race for the Dino trail run series was at Fort Benjamen Harrison and I needed the race simulation to force myself to run hard on the trails. I am doing a trail marathon on December 6th, and this was kind of a tune up race. Not that I am racing the trail marathon, but you know what I mean. It was freezing outside, but I bundled up and headed to the race. I was very proud of myself to say the least. Long story short--the race was hard, it was muddy, it was cold and there was a lot of fast girls there. I ran my heart out and ended up 4th. I was actually really happy with my time and I hope that the course distance was accurate, because if so I was moving pretty fast.
I am very thankful that we have such a dedicated team of race directors here in Indianapolis. It makes this otherwise boring town somewhat livable for me.
I managed to wear my self out at the race so that I could enjoy the food at the Mideast Elite Team party. Unfortunately, I didn't rehydrate enough after the race so I ended up with a massive headache. And yes, Whitney Diggs actually had a few drinks. And no, it won't happen again for awhile.
I also was reminded this weekend at how much I love my true friends. You guys are honest and compassionate. You know who you are--you always tell me the truth, you always look out for me and I am very blessed. Thanks for listening and for your support through the rough patches.
