Since this is my first post, I thought I would give you a little background information on where I am at in my life right now; specifically as it applies to training, racing and the sport of trying to fit it all in. I am 27 years old at the moment. I work at the JCC in Indianapolis and I spend most of my time there personal training, teaching pilates and creating/implementing fitness center programming. I love my job and many of my clients have become some of my closest friends over the past 4 years. I also recently just finished directing the first annual Indianapolis Kids Triathlon (http://www.jccindy.org/)
I started doing triathlons in 2003. Since then, I have become...obsessed (to say the least) with the sport. It all started out perfectly innocent. I would do the local races, but then i got a taste of something more. That something more is Ironman. In the spring of 2007, I started adventure racing and I have equally fallen in love with that sport as well. So, I am currently training for the long haul of an Ironman and trying to work on my off road skills so that I can keep up with the ultra-fast boys on my Citgo/Gray Goat Multisport adventure race team. I think that triathlon helps me become a better adventure racer and adventure racing helps me become a better triathlete.
I currently race for 2 teams. The primary team that I race for is Citgo/Gray Goat Multisport and the second being Mideast Team Elite. Citgo/Gray Goat Multisport is a local race team that excels at adventure racing and triathlon. I LOVE the guys I race with despite the fact that they make fun of me all the time. We have one other female triathlete on our team, Katie Sahm. We are training partners and have become great friends. She will probably be mentioned more on this blog than anyone else:) LOL
Mideast Team Elite is a regional team that focuses on duathlon and triathlon. This team allows me to be more of a part of USA Triathlon (USAT) and I get to meet and race with people from all over the region. I have met some extremely amazing people through Team Elite and they make me feel like i'm not all alone in my training/racing obsession.
My Citgo/Gray Goat Multisport Adventure Race team has qualified for the USARA Nationals (United States Adventure Racing Association) and we will be racing at Nationals in November. Once I get done with Ironman Louisville, I will turn my focus to mountain biking, kayaking and trail running so that we can kick it at Nationals. CAN'T WAIT!

So this blog will take you through my journey and hopefully through some amazing experiences and probably some not so amazing experiences as well. Hopefully it will be an awesome ride!
