Give a girl a break! Not literally

I deperately wanted to get in a nice, short and safe ride today so I went to Eagle Creek Park on the west side of Indy. My instructions were to go hard for 5 minutes and then easy in between efforts. There are a few good hills out there so I was even more excited to get in some good efforts. WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN out of nowhere, this deer jumps out of the forrest and I could litterally see her hooves in my face. She was obviously startled b/c she made this awful sound and her eyes were HUGE! Her hooves slid across the pavement. It all happened so fast, but I swear she jumped over my front wheel. She never touched me, but my heart jumped out of my chest. I watched my life flash before my eyes and I thought to myself, if I make it through this season without a major injury, I have a guardian angel. I have never NEVER NEVER had so many issues riding until this summer. It's like I'm a magnet for all things dangerous. So please be careful out there. Even when you think you are super safe, you are not. Anything can happen at anytime. Always be defensive!
